As LA Metro begins its implementation, what can Angelenos expect in the next year?

    Los Angeles' New Transportation Future

    Speakers
Stephanie Wiggins, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, LA County
Dan Rosenfeld, Real Estate Investor, SunCal
    Denny Zane, Executive Director, MoveLA

    Moderator
Dan Schnur, Director, Jesse M. Unruh Institute of Politics, USC & Chair, BizFed SoCal 2017 Task Force

Measure M, approved last November, is the cornerstone of the region’s transportation future. As LA Metro begins implementing the 40-year, $120 billion initiative, what kind of progress and immediate benefits can Angelenos expect in the next 12 to 24 months?

Greater Los Angeles suffers from the worst traffic of any U.S. metro region. It also has the second-worst roads among the nation’s largest urban areas. What improvements will Angelenos see in terms of shorter commute times, reduced traffic congestion, improved road conditions and greater access to transit systems and alternative transportation options?

If the U.S. Department of Transportation’s budget is cut by President Trump’s proposed budget, how would this affect LA Metro? What are the opportunities and benefits from public-private partnerships to keep Measure M’s projects on track? What are the impacts to the local environment, including health threats? What are the effects on low and moderate-income neighborhoods?
